USA – Back in March, the U.S. Department of Energy announced that it had selected 52 projects across 24 states to receive grants amounting to USD750m, which will support the development of a hydrogen economy in the United States.

In 2021, the U.S. Congress passed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, also known as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which authorised up to USD1.6bn in grants towards research, development, demonstration and deployment of hydrogen technologies. The awards announced last month represent the first implementation phase of the government’s plans to build a hydrogen economy.
