Autocar to develop hands-free charging for terminal tractors with Rocsys

USA / NetherlandsAutocar LLC, a manufacturer of medium- to heavy-duty vocational trucks based in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, is partnering with Rocsys BV of Rijswijk, Netherlands to develop hands-free charging systems for Autocar’s battery electric terminal tractors.

Autocar says it has already received a pilot order from one of its customers for a hands-free charging solution. As such, it has chosen Rocsys to supply its ‘ROC-1’, an autonomous charger which fully automates the docking process for an electric vehicle which has pulled up to the charging station.
