Daimler Buses and BMZ to work on new generation battery technology

Daimler Buses

Germany / Poland – Daimler Buses GmbH (owned by Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Germany) has announced a strategic partnership with battery manufacturer BMZ Poland (a subsidiary of Germany’s BMZ Group) to co-develop new generation (NMC4) e-bus batteries to be equipped in Daimler Buses. Improvements in cell chemistry, life cycle and energy density should result in longer range and battery longevity. According to Daimler, NMC4 battery packs will be ready by 2025, contributing to the company's electrification roadmap.
