UD’s Quon celebrates 20th anniversary
Japan - UD Trucks Corporation, headquartered in Ageo in Japan’s Saitama prefecture, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its Quon flagship heavy-duty truck this year – a model in which the company pioneered key environmental technologies.
The Japanese truck-maker, now part of the Isuzu Group, claims the Quon was the first heavy-duty truck worldwide to feature the Urea Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system, which purifies nitrogen oxide emissions, when it was originally launched in 2004.
