Rigid truck sales in India decline by 10,000 units in Q4 of FY2023-24

India - Sales of medium and heavy rigid trucks (7.5t gvw and above) in India decreased by 13.2% in Q4 (January to March) of FY2023-24 to register 69,983 units from 80,587 units in same quarter of the year 2022-23. Exports of rigid trucks decreased by 30.1% to 2,288 units in fourth quarter of FY 2023 from 1,758 units in the same quarter of the previous year. Production of the rigid trucks decreased by 11.8% to 69,139 units in Q4 of FY 2022-23 from 78,401 units in the Q4 of the previous year.
Sales of medium-duty rigid trucks (7.5t to 12 tons) shrank by 4.1% to register 10,412 units in Q4 of FY 2023 from 10,001 units in Q4 of FY 2022. Exports increased by 39% from 721 to 1,002 and production increased by 8.4% to 13,074 (12,060).
