Ashok Leyland lays foundation stone for new advanced manufacturing facility for electric buses in Uttar Pradesh

Ashok Leyland holds ground breaking event of new e-bus plant in Uttar Pradesh

India – Late February saw Ashok Leyland Ltd of Chennai celebrate the start of construction of a new commercial vehicle manufacturing by holding a groundbreaking ceremony at the site in Uttar Pradesh.

Spanning 70 acres, the greenfield manufacturing facility, is to focus on electric bus production, while maintaining the capability to produce other buses powered by existing and emerging alternate fuels. An MOU for this site with Uttar Pradesh government was signed last year in September 2023.
