Utility Trailer opens Texas final assembly site for Cargobull TRUs

Cargobull North America plant in Eagle Pass, Texas
USA / Germany – Utility Trailer Manufacturing Company LLC, a semi-trailer manufacturer based in the City of Industry, California, USA, has opened a final assembly plant in Eagle Pass, Texas for transport refrigeration units (TRUs) supplied by Schmitz Cargobull AG of Horstmar, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
The new plant is located next to the Utility Trailer Southeast Texas dealer location and will be operated by ‘Cargobull North America’, the joint venture established by the two companies last year. At Eagle Pass, final assembly of the ‘Cargobull 625 Hybrid’ (single-temp) and ‘Cargobull 655MT Hybrid’ (multi-temp) will be carried out, before being sent off for installation on Utility’s reefers. The plant will also assemble some subcomponents, including remote evaporators, solar panels, and telematics hardware. The site also incorporates a warehouse for parts storage.
