The American manufacturer announced in September that it is adding two new third-party options to its semi-trailers: a lightweight brake drum from Accuride; and a liftgate battery charger from Schmitz Cargobull’s North American joint venture with Utility.

The rear door sensor option is available with the Schmitz Cargobull refrigeration unit, which is offered exclusively by Utility with its 3000R reefer trailer.

The new plant is located next to the Utility Trailer Southeast Texas dealer location and will be operated by ‘Cargobull North America’, the joint venture established by the two companies last year.

The ‘Permalite Apex’ is a thin 14-inch light strip which can be mounted in the upper corners of a dry box or refrigerated trailer, putting it out of the way of potential damage by forklifts and other loading equipment.

At the ‘Distribution Solutions 2023’ conference organised by the International Foodservice Distributors Association in Fort Worth, Texas between 11-13 September, Utility Trailer presented two trailers – the ‘625 Hybrid’ and ‘655 MultiTemp Hybrid’ – fitted with Schmitz S.CU transport refrigeration units.
