Symbio and Schaeffler joint venture inaugurates fuel cell component facility in France

FranceSymbio and Schaeffler have announced that their joint venture, Innoplate – based in Haguenau, France – has commenced production of metallic bipolar plates, a key component in fuel cell stacks.

The facility in Haguenau, located on the German border, has begun production with an annual capacity of four million bipolar plates. By 2030, the joint venture partners hope to ramp up production to as many as fifty million plates per year. The plant is supported by the ‘France Relance’ or ‘France 2030’ government project and is expected to create 120 jobs by the end of the decade.
