Brazil - The Brazilian bus industry is undergoing a period of adjustment and balance, marked by increasing production but declining sales, according to data released by the National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) of São Paulo. While accumulated production for the year has grown by 58.5%, sales have fallen by 25.4% compared with the same period in 2023.

From January to May, 12,029 bus chassis were produced, a significant increase from the 7,590 units produced in the same period last year. This growth highlights the sector's recovery following the initial drop at the beginning of last year due to the implementation of the new PROCONVE P8 emissions legislation. In May alone, 2,731 bus chassis were produced, up 40.3% from 1,947 units in May 2023.
