Colombia / South Korea - Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company Ltd, the South Korean truck-maker headquartered in Gunsan and owned by India’s Tata Motors Ltd,  has announced it had signed a sales contract for 130 Maxen heavy-duty trucks with Colombian construction firm, KMA Construcciones SAS - based in Cartagena.

This is Tata Daewoo's first mass-production export order for its Maxen truck, which was launched in 2022, and the company’s largest order from Colombia in many years. The order is mainly for Maxen 8x4 25-ton tipper truck models, which are powered by the company’s licenced Cursor-series engines with a power output of up to 570ps.

Tata Daewoo started exporting its vehicles to Colombia in 2007, shipping just over 1,000 trucks before exiting the market in 2015 after stricter emissions regulations were introduced and economic conditions in the country deteriorated. The company re-entered the market in 2022.
