Bollinger Motors’ e-chassis qualifies for USD 40,000 in U.S. tax credit

USA – Bollinger Motors Inc, a subsidiary of Mullen Automotive Inc based in Oak Park, Michigan, has announced a deal to supply 80 of its all-electric class 4 chassis cabs amounting to USD 13.2 million to the Momentum Group, a fleet management company. Momentum said the company “will upfit the B4 chassis cab with mobile EV chargers, a box truck, flatbed, service body or stake truck.” Deliveries of the Bollinger B4 chassis cab are set for Q4 2024. Roush Industries Inc is assembling the B4 under contract at a facility in Livonia, Michigan.

The ‘B4’, which has a gross vehicle weight rating of 15,000 lbs (or 7,030 kgs), is a cab-chassis truck powered by an e-axle and up to three battery packs. Together, these deliver 323 hp and 675-lbs-ft of torque, and a range of 185 miles (or 297 kms). The B4 electric chassis cab recently qualified for an IRS 40,000 U.S. tax credit for commercial clean vehicles, under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022**.
