ACT Expo 2024: Phoenix to “rehabilitate” the Proterra bus brand

Phoenix ZX5

USA – The Proterra brand needs a rehabilitation following the bankruptcy of Proterra Inc last year; that’s according to Phoenix Motor, the company which bought Proterra’s bus division, when speaking with T&BB at the latest Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo, held between 20-23 May at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

John Dunn, formerly of Proterra and now working for Phoenix, said that Proterra Transit continued to build buses during the Chapter 11 bankruptcy and a “large number” of customer contracts were carried over following the acquisition. He told T&BB that there are over one thousand Proterra buses on the road with more than three hundred customers. Many have stuck with the brand despite the financial trouble, and Phoenix’s priority is to “mend relationships” and fulfil outstanding orders.
