Brazil’s home demand for bus and coach falls 21% in the first half of 2024

Brazil – Domestic sales of bus and coach chassis during January to June of 2024 fell by 21.7%  to 8,860 units, down from 11,322 in the same period of the previous year.

Mercedes-Benz led the way with 4,133 units, a decrease of 26.5% on 5,623 from the first half of 2023, but still accounting for almost 1 in 2 chassis sold in Brazil. VWCO/MAN remained second place despite a unit sales fall of nearly 30%. In contrast, Iveco and Scania bucked the downward trend with significant gains of 71% and 161%.
