Ford Pro offers charging as a service in California

USA – American OEM Ford Motor Company of Dearborn, Michigan, through its EV charging brand Ford Pro, is now offering Californian businesses the Ford Pro Smart Charging Bundle, which entails the installation, maintenance and servicing of Ford chargers for a monthly subscription fee. This will relieve prohibitive upfront costs for customers whilst improving charging efficiency and energy management as many businesses look to capitalise on Californian state funding to transition fleets to zero emissions. Ford offers a Level 2 48-amp charger or a Level 2 80-amp charger, designed around its electric E-Transit van.
Ford sees a big opportunity in California in particular, due to the fluctuation of electricity prices in the State. The Ford Pro chargers have advanced energy management software which automates demand response to grid demand, meaning it can automatically alert customers when electricity prices are high, automatically pausing charging and resuming charging when the price comes down.
