USATerex Corporation, a manufacturer of lifting and material-handling plant based in Norwalk, Connecticut, announced in July that it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Environmental Solutions Group from Dover Corporation, adding refuse collection equipment to Terex’s product portfolio.

Based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Environmental Solutions Group (or ESG) is a family of several brands involved in the waste collection industry. Its subsidiaries include Heil, which produces refuse bodies for trucks, and Bayne Thinline, which develops hydraulic cart lifters for refuse trucks.1 The purchase of ESG will mark Terex’s entry into an entirely new market, valued at around USD40bn, according to Terex.
