Isuzu offers new Isuzu-Cummins 6.7-litre engine in remodelled Forward truck range

Opening ceremony of DB6A engine production line

Japan / USA - Isuzu Motors Ltd (Isuzu), headquartered in Yokohama, Japan’s Kanagawa prefecture, has launched three new models under its Forward (F-series) medium/heavy truck range in Japan, fitted with a new 6.7L diesel engine (DB6A) developed in collaboration with US engine manufacturer, Cummins Inc.

The two companies began their engine collaboration in 2019 when they signed the ‘Isuzu Cummins Powertrain Partnership’, with the aim of developing efficient next-generation powertrains. The newly-launched Forward trucks, with gross vehicle weights (GVW) of 16, 20 and 22 tons respectively, are the first models to use engines developed under this partnership.
