India’s light medium-duty (3.5-6t gvw) truck segment continues to boom in Q1, but segment overall stagnates

India - The data presented below, supplied by RACE Innovations Inc engineering consultancy, reflects the performance of India's light truck market across different weight categories up to gvw ≤ 7.5t for the first quarter period in India from April to June 2024-25 (Q1) compared with the same period in 2023-24. Total production across all categories fell by 3.2% from 145,769 to 141,115, indicating a slight contraction in manufacturing output. Domestic sales decreased by 0.8% from 124,258 to 123,214 units, reflecting a modest slowdown in market demand, while exports increased marginally by 0.6%.
