India’s tractor market up 7.3% in Q1 of FY 2024/25

India - The Indian tractor market, ranging from 31 tons to 55 tons GVW (Gross Vehicle Weight), exhibited varied performance in the April to June 2024-25 (Q1/ 2024/25) period compared with the same quarter last year.

Across all segments, production decreased slightly by 1.8% to 15,532 (15,813), while domestic sales grew by 7.4% to 14,486 tractor units from 15,553 vehicles in the same period of 2023/24, highlighting strengthening demand for heavy duty tractors within India. While tractor exports saw a significant increase of 79.3%, the numbers remain small.
