Medium to heavy minibus/coach demand boost sector numbers in Q1

India - The light bus and coach market in India, categorized by vehicles of 7.5t gvw & below, exhibited a mixed performance in April to June 2024-25 (Q1 2024/25) compared with the same period of the previous financial year.

Overall total production across all segments declined by 4.6% from 18,188 units to 17,437 units, while sales domestically grew by 8.0%, 15,574 units in Q1 of FY 2024 from 14,423 units. Exports witnessed a substantial increase of 161.0%, showing strong growth in international markets from 390 units to 1,018 units.
