Germany – MAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, has announced its plan to open a charging hub for commercial vehicles at the Allianz Arena, the home ground of football team Bayern Munich.
A total of thirty charging points are planned, which MAN says would allow for up to five hundred trucks and buses to be recharged per day. A combination of high-power combined charging system (CCS) and megawatt charging system (MCS) chargers will be installed in three stages in the southern bus park of the stadium premises. MAN has not given a definite timescale for completion of the project, though it does intend to hand over a battery electric coach to the FC Bayern team in the 2025/26 season, by which time it can be assumed that part of the work will be done.
