Peterbilt now offering TX-12 transmissions with medium-duty models

USAPeterbilt Motors Company of Denton, Texas has announced that the availability of the new ‘TX-12’ transmissions, made by parent company Paccar Inc of Bellevue, Washington, has been extended to its medium-duty truck models.

Customers can now order the Paccar TX-12 and ‘TX-12 PRO’ automated transmissions with the ‘Paccar PX-9’ engine for Peterbilt Models 548, 537, and 536. The TX-12 operates up to 1,250 lbs-ft of torque in vehicles up to a gross combination weight of 66,000 pounds, whereas the TX-12 PRO is designed for rugged applications such as snowplough trucks, crane trucks, bucket trucks, and so on (albeit with the same torque and GCW ratings).
