Germany – Multinational tech company Siemens AG of Munich, Bavaria has announced its plan to carve out its electric vehicle charging business, allowing it greater “entrepreneurial freedom” to grow and become a significant player in the charging infrastructure market.

Through the carve-out, Siemens will turn its ‘eMobility’ business into a dedicated legal structure. This new entity will include Heliox BV, a Dutch charging firm which Siemens acquired last year. The eMobility business unit comprises a product portfolio of AC and DC chargers from 11 kW to 1 MW, plus production and R&D sites in Germany, Portugal, the USA, India, and the Netherlands.
