MAN's CEO Alexander Vlaskamp addresses the audience at the IAA

Germany – At IAA Transportation 2024, held between 17-22 September in Hanover, MAN Truck & Bus SE of Munich, Bavaria premiered a battery electric version of its ‘TGL’ range of trucks, thus completing its portfolio of electric trucks from 12- to 50-tonnes.

The ‘eTGL’ is a medium-duty truck designed for short distance and/or light payload distribution. The vehicle offers a maximum payload of 6,600 kilograms and a range of up to 235 kilometres, which can be recharged in half an hour when connected to a 250-kW charging station. The powertrain comprises a centrally-placed 210-kW electric motor and two-speed gearbox combination together with two battery packs on either side of the frame rails which store 160 kWh of energy. MAN will offer the vehicle with a 4,500 mm wheelbase configuration which can be mounted with a body measuring between 6,200 to 7,300 mm in length.
