USATom’s Truck Center in Santa Fe Springs, California has become the first truck dealership in the United States to open an onsite refuelling facility for hydrogen, according to a press release published by electric truck manufacturer Nikola Corporation of Phoenix, Arizona.

The hydrogen fuel station in Santa Fe Springs is not a permanent facility but a “modular” solution offered by Nikola’s dedicated brand, ‘Hyla’. A semi-trailer is used to transport fuel to the site and dispense it to hydrogen-powered trucks. The dispensing equipment operates at 700 bar pressure and can reportedly refuel up to thirty trucks a day.
