Roush contracted to manufacture REE vehicles for American market

Israel / USAREE Automotive Ltd of Herzliya, Israel has contracted Roush Enterprises Inc of Livonia, Michigan, USA to assemble its ‘P7’ battery electric chassis cabs, beginning in the fourth quarter of this year.

From a factory in Metro Detroit, Roush will set up production of the by-wire vehicles for the American market, aiming for annual capacity of 5,000 units. Each P7 vehicle will be fitted with four in-wheel drive units or ‘REEcorners’ which are manufactured at REE’s site in Coventry, UK. Motherson, the Indian components giant which recently took control of 19% of REE shares, will manage the supply chain and logistics as well as offering on-site manufacturing and quality assurance support.
