IAA Transportation 2024: Continental launched three new CV tyres at the IAA

Germany – At the 2024 IAA Transportation event from September 17 to 22, Continental AG of Hanover, Germany, unveiled three new Commercial Vehicle (CV) tyres (the Conti EfficientPro 5, Conti Urban NXT, and Conti EcoPlus HT3+). Holger Lange, head of R&D for truck and bus tyres at Continental explained that the company is focused on enhancing the sustainability and efficiency of its commercial vehicle tyres.
Designed for electric trucks and aimed at long-distance applications, the Conti EfficientPro 5 boasts a 10% improvement in rolling resistance compared to its predecessor. This is the first long-haul tyre in the 315/70 size with an axle load rating of 8.5 tons. The tyre features a rigid rubber compound that enhances fuel efficiency by up to 5%. It will be available in 315/70 R 22.5 and 385/55 R 22.5 sizes starting in early 2025.
