Ford teases F-Line E at the IAA

F-Line E

Germany / Turkey – Ford Otomotiv Sanayi A.Ş. (Ford Otosan) of Istanbul, Turkey, used the 2024 IAA Transportation event to introduce its F-Line E, an all-electric heavy-duty truck using a ZF electric drive system*, as part of its long-term goal to transition to zero-emission vehicles by 2040. (A formal agreement with the ZF Group as an electric driveline partner was signed at the show). Whilst technical specifics were not given at this point, we know that the truck will be offered in three segments, road, construction and tractor. Set to go into series production in 2025 at its Eskişehir Plant in Northeastern Turkey, the F-LINE series integrates several high-end safety technologies, including, Blind Spot Information System, Reversing Camera, Lane Departure Warning, Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, ensuring optimal driver safety and confidence on the road.

Ford Trucks also introduced several key products and innovations. One of the major launches was the second-generation EcoTorq inline six-cylinder diesel engine. This upgraded engine, retaining a 12.7-litre displacement, now offers enhanced performance with 510 horsepower and 2,600 Nm of torque, while meeting stricter CO2 emission standards. This aligns with Ford Trucks' focus on fuel efficiency and sustainability.
