Rocsys partners with Unikie to automate depot charging

Netherlands / Finland – Rocsys BV of Rijswijk, Netherlands is partnering with Finnish tech company Unikie Oy to develop a system for moving vehicles around in a depot and recharging them without the need for manual operation.
The initial aim of the partnership is to automate charging operations in bus and logistics depots, with a view to expand to other applications later. By combining Rocsys’ hands-free charger with Unikie’s ‘Marshalling Solution’, the partners aim to eliminate the need for human drivers to manually park the vehicle in the charging bay and hook it up to the charger. The two have reportedly tested the idea successfully at a site in Turku, Finland.
