France – Primarily in the hydrogen truck retrofit space, Paris-based Hyliko SAS presented its retrofitted HFC truck at the IAA 2024 Transportation event in Hanover, Germany. This is part of the company’s "Hydrogen Trucks as a Service" solution which includes retrofitting, managing refuelling/charging as well as digital fleet and aftermarket services, according to CEO Ovarith Troeung. The 44-ton heavy-duty tractor, which was retrofitted at the company’s facility South of Lyon, was available for test drive. The vehicle is made to run on a Toyota hydrogen fuel cell, extending the life of the diesel ICE truck whilst reducing CO2 emissions. The batteries were supplied by fellow French company, Forsee Power SAS which allows for a range of up to 400km. The electric powertrain is supplied by Dana and the transmission comes from Allison. Currently, the company has four retrofitted HFC trucks on the road, all in France.
