Ecuadorian CV market slides 7% in first nine months of the year

Ecuador - In a year of continuous contraction in the South American commercial vehicle market, Ecuador closed the three-quarter period in 2024 at 11,271 units, a 7% decrease on 12,115 units in the same period of 2023, according to Ecuadorian Association of Automotive Companies (Adeade).

All segments, trucks, vans and buses, recorded a decrease of 6.6%, 5.4% and 19.2%, respectively. Truck sales totalled 7,003 units from January to September 2024, compared with 7,495 in the same period of 2023; vans sales totalled 3,678 vans compared with 3,890, and bus sales totalled 590 units, compared with 730 vehicles sold last year.
