Germany / Turkey – ZF Group of Friedrichshafen, Germany announced at the 2024 IAA Transportation event* in Hanover that it has secured a long-term agreement to supply Ford Otomotiv Sanayi A.Ş. (Ford Otosan) of Istanbul, Turkey, with electric drivelines. Starting in late 2024, ZF will provide its CeTrax 2 dual electric central drive, which is designed for heavy-duty trucks, including Ford Trucks' electric rigid truck (F-Line E). This drive offers two electric motors with a continuous power of 380 kW and a peak torque of 24,700 Nm, enabling efficient and powerful performance. Additionally, ZF will supply an Electrically Powered Hydraulic Steering Pump (EPHS) to improve the vehicle's steering system using electric power. This partnership supports Ford Trucks' push towards sustainable transport by equipping its electrified models with advanced, zero-emission technologies, highlighting the industry's shift to e-mobility.
*At the IAA, ZF announced an agreement to supply Ford heavy trucks with electric drive systems and subcomponents, including its ‘CeTrax 2’ central drive motor for the F-Line E. Under the terms of the agreement, ZF will also supply future electric drive systems as they enter production. Ford Trucks will also take ZF’s ‘Electrically Powered Hydraulic Steering Pump’, a subsystem providing on-demand hydraulic flow which is powered by a separate motor, thus allowing for a hydraulic steering system which is independent of the drivetrain.
