New Flyer receives largest order to date for fuel cell electric buses

USANew Flyer of America Inc, a subsidiary of the NFI Group based in Crookston, Minnesota, has announced its largest contract for fuel cell electric buses to date: an order for 108 vehicles placed by the public transport agency San Mateo County Transit District (“SamTrans”) of California.

New Flyer will supply 108 units of its ‘Xcelsior Charge FC’ range of hydrogen-powered electric buses, all measuring forty feet in length. The company did not say when they would be delivered, stating instead that the buses were added to its Q2 2024 order backlog.
