Germany / South Korea - Hyundai Motor Company, headquartered in Seoul, announced that its Xcient fuel-cell tractor unit has been tested by German parcel delivery company, GLS over the course of 30,000 kilometres in a year, starting in late 2023. Operating in the Cologne region, the 6x2 truck is equipped with an Allison 4000 Series fully automatic transmission. The vehicle, which is almost as quiet as a full EV, makes night deliveries possible.

This project is a part of establishing a hydrogen commercial vehicle value chain by leveraging partnerships with local companies. The Xcient has been deployed in 10 countries, including the U.S., Switzerland, Germany, France, Netherlands, New Zealand, Korea, Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
