Spain – At this past FIAA event held in Madrid, the Irizar Group of Ormaiztegi, Spain, launched the new Irizar i3 class II low-entry electric intercity bus. This model signifies the expansion of the company’s product offering in the intercity market. This zero-emission bus has been designed for regional travel. Available in 12.05, 12.75 and 14.9-metre lengths, the Irizar i3 class II has a new generation lightweight chassis that is more efficient, with improvements in energy consumption.

With a range of 400kms on a single charge it's worth noting that while this new model is electric, Irizar still offers the i3 model with various powertrain options including diesel, biodiesel, HVO, hybrid or gas engine. The vehicle adheres to the highest safety standards by meeting all the GSR2 and cybersecurity (R155 and R156) standards by including radar and cameras ensuring driver and road safety.
