USAModine Manufacturing Company of Racine, Wisconsin has announced that it is supplying its thermal management technology for hybrid electric vehicles built by Gillig LLC, a bus manufacturer based in Livermore, California.

Powered by a combination of a diesel engine and Allison’s ‘eGen Flex’ drive system, Gillig’s hybrid buses contain a drive unit with integrated motor and gearbox, an inverter, and a lithium titanate oxide battery system. These components are regulated by Modine’s ‘EVantage’ thermal management system, which uses heat exchangers to regulate the temperature of the battery and maintain optimum conditions for the power electronics.
