Tractor sales decline modestly in first six months of fiscal year 2024/25

India - In the first half of FY 2024, tractor sales experienced a decline of 6.1%, totalling 30,063 units compared with 32,029 units in the same period of FY 2023/24. Tractor production decreased by a greater percentage of 9.9%, falling from 33,269 units to 29,985 units. However, export sales saw a 3.6% increase.

The light-weight tractor segment (31 tons < GVW ≤ 40 tons) registered a modest increase in sales of 1.3% with 3,312 units sold in the first half of FY 2024/25, up from 3,268 units in the same period of FY 2023/24. Exports in this segment surged by 87.5% albeit to still a small volume of just 15 units , and production increased by 9.5%.
