Netherlands – The Dutch government has made available EUR 42 million through the new Subsidy Scheme for Private Charging Infrastructure at Companies (SPRILA) to encourage private investment in electric charging infrastructure for electric trucks. This funding package offers up to 40% cost coverage for private charging points for heavy-duty transport to encourage the uptake of electric trucks and coach in the Netherlands. The subsidy is explicit to private charging points operating on private land. Large companies can receive up to a 20% reimbursement of the charging infrastructure costs, whilst this climbs up to 40% for small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs).

In terms of public charging infrastructure schemes, the Dutch government has launched the Subsidy Scheme Public Charging Infrastructure Heavy Transport (SPULA). Public charging operators can apply for part of the EUR 15 million funding package. Both initiatives support the Netherlands’ goal of achieving emission-free transport by 2050.
