Sales of light-duty buses and coaches in India remain steady during first half of year

India - Sales of light-duty vehicles (7.5t and below) declined modestly by 0.5% in the first half of FY 2024/25, reaching 27,435 units compared with 27,565 units in the same period of FY 2023/24. Production saw a more significant decrease of 13.7%, dropping from 37,014 units to 31,938 units. However, exports increased substantially by 65%, rising from 1,276 units to 2,106 units.

In the minibus segment with more than 13 seats (GVW ≤ 5 tons), sales fell by 6.4% to 7,551 units from 8,064 units, while production in this segment rose by 3.4%.
