UK / USA – American light-duty EV manufacturer, Canoo Inc based in Justin, Texas, announced that it has achieved Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA)* for its right-hand drive (RHD) LDV 130 and LDV 190 electric delivery vans in the UK. This regulatory milestone allows the company to register these vehicles with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), enabling legal road use in the country. The certification ensures the vehicles meet UK safety and environmental standards, paving the way for customer trials to begin.

This is part of the company’s effort to expand into the UK, having recently set up a UK subsidiary (Canoo Technologies UK Ltd) based in the Bicester Motion business park in north Oxfordshire. This site will serve as Canoo's operations, customer, and activation centre for the UK and Europe. In a statement, the company said that this marks a significant step in its global expansion, offering access to a market with growing demand for sustainable commercial transportation. Canoo is preparing to ship electric vans to the UK in 2025.
