According to the company, Canoo faced rapid cash depletion and difficulties in securing additional funding due to uncertain demand for its microbus-inspired cargo vans.

The company announced that it has achieved Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) for its right-hand drive (RHD) LDV 130 and LDV 190 electric delivery vans in the UK. This regulatory milestone allows the company to register these vehicles with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), enabling legal road use in the country.

The UK subsidiary is based in the Bicester Motion business park in north Oxfordshire. This site will serve as Canoo's operations, customer, and activation centre for the UK and Europe.

The LCV and pickup truck maker has relocated its corporate headquarters from California to northern Texas. This relocation is part of a broader restructuring plan, which also includes the migration of Canoo's engineering workforce to its two main Oklahoma locations in Oklahoma City and Pryor​, beginning in Q4 this year.

Earlier this month at the Commercial Vehicle Show at the NEC in Birmingham, T&BB spoke to Greg Ethridge, the Chief Financial Officer of American EV manufacturer, Canoo Inc who confirmed that the company had indeed purchased manufacturing assets (robotics and machinery equipment) from now defunct, Arrival Ltd. The manufacturing assets are set to be shipped by sea to the Canoo manufacturing facility in Oklahoma City, in the U.S.A.
