GreenPower receives order for 50 US-built electric school buses from West Virginia

USA / Canada – Electric-powered medium and heavy-duty vehicle manufacturer, GreenPower Motor Company Inc, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada has won a contract for 50 electric school buses in West Virginia worth USD 18.5 million funded by the EPA grant under the Clean School Bus Program. The funding also includes charging equipment. The order is for a mixture of Mega and Nano Beasts set to be delivered starting in 2025.

The new all-electric 12.1 metre (40 foot) Mega Beast boasts an impressive 482 km (300 miles) range thanks to a 387 kWh battery pack, the company claims, this is the most powerful battery pack in the U.S. electric bus market. The vehicle is in series production at its new facility in Charleston, West Virginia, USA. The school bus can accommodate 90 seated passengers. Given specifications include air suspension and ABS braking. The 7.62 metre (25 foot) Nano beast can seat up to 25 students with a range of 140 miles (225 kms) on a single charge.
