Daimler starts manufacturing electric drivetrain for eActros 600

Daimler Truck's Gaggenau components plant

Germany – With series production of the Mercedes Benz eActros 600 long-haul battery-electric truck having already begun in Wörth, Germany, Daimler Truck AG of Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Baden-Württemberg, has started manufacturing components for its electric HGV at its plants in Gaggenau and Kassel. The Gaggenau plant manufactures axle and transmission components, such as shafts, gear wheels, and housings which are then sent to the Kassel plant, where the components are assembled into complete electric axles. Gaggenau also produces structural parts for the truck’s cab. The final assembly of the eActros 600 takes place at Daimler’s Wörth plant. Each electric axle undergoes an “end-of-line test” to ensure quality, safety and operational integrity.
