USA – In late 2024, Ideanomics Inc (a financial technology company based in New York City) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware. The company, which had invested over USD 300 million into electric mobility ventures including Via Motors, Solectrac, Energica, and wireless charging firm WAVE, cited mounting losses. According to the company, the July 2024 temporary delisting from the NASDAQ and mounting regulatory pressures were key drivers behind its collapse. At the time of filing, Ideanomics reported liabilities of up to USD 500 million.

As part of the bankruptcy proceedings, Ideanomics has moved to sell off its remaining assets under a court-supervised sale. The majority of its subsidiaries have been shut down or divested, leaving WAVE Charging (its flagship wireless charging brand) as the last major asset on the table. Its fate now depends on the outcome of the ongoing bankruptcy sale.
