BYD launches Shark pickup truck in Australia

BYD’s hybrid-powered Shark

Australia - Chinese automaker BYD Auto Company Ltd, headquartered in Shenzhen, continued the global roll-out of its new Shark hybrid-powered pickup truck with its launch in Australia in December.

The Shark is powered by a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine and two drive motors, each fitted to the rear and front axles. It has a total power output is 321kW and a peak torque of 650Nm, giving it an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a towing capacity of 2,500 kg.
