MAN publishes open-source data from autonomous truck trials

Example from the data sets published by MAN

GermanyMAN Truck & Bus SE, a subsidiary of Traton based in Munich, Bavaria, has published sensor and driving data collected from tests of its autonomous trucks, making the results freely available to other companies and organisations which are developing self-driving technology.

MAN says it is the first truck manufacturer to make such data freely available to developers. The ‘MAN TruckScenes’ data includes 747 driving scenes pulled from equipment such as cameras, lidar, radar, inertial measurement units (for determining the vehicle’s position in relation to its surroundings), and global navigation satellite system data. The company says it is also the first to provide 4D radar data with 360 degrees of coverage, making it the largest radar data set with an annotated 3D bounding box.
