Brazilian truck and bus production increases 39.5% in 2024

Brazil – According to the Association of Automotive Vehicle Manufacturers of Brazil (ANFAVEA) based in Sao Paulo, Brazil’s commercial vehicle production in 2024 witnessed a strong recovery to 169,001 units in total, an increase of 39.5% compared with 121,133 units registered in 2023, when introduction of PROCONVE P8 legislation (equivalent to Euro VI). The impact of this new emissions legislation that came into effect from January 1, 2023, had a marked effect on production and sales in 2023.

The table below shows that in 2024, truck production rose by 40.5% to 141,252 units compared with 100,535 vehicles in 2023, and that 27,749 bus and coach chassis output rose by 34.7%, when compared with 20,598 units in 2023.
