Volvo partners with Waabi on self-driving trucks

Sweden / Canada – The autonomous solutions division of Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer AB Volvo has agreed to a long-term strategic partnership with Waabi Innovation Inc of Toronto, Ontario, Canada to develop self-driving trucks for the American market.

Waabi’s self-driving system, ‘Waabi Driver’, will be vertically integrated with Volvo Group North America’s autonomous-ready trucks on the production line at New River Valley in Dublin, Virginia, USA. Volvo NA’s ‘VNL Autonomous’ is fitted with redundant systems to enable safe autonomous operations.
