Market demand for LCV in India improves almost 3%

India - Sales of Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) goods carrier trucks with a GVW ≤ 7.5t saw a 2.8% rise in domestic sales, in October to December (Q3) of FY 2024/25 to reach 138,696 units, up from the 134,970 in Q3 of FY 2023/24. Production remained steady, increasing by just 0.2% to 136,761, while export sales grew by 12.7% to 14,582 units.

In the lightest or smallest LCV segment, GVW ≤ 2t, domestic sales declined by 2.8%, totalling 42,194 units in Q3 of FY 2024/25, compared with 43,396 units in the same quarter of 2023/24. Production fell by 11.3% (almost 5,000 units) to 38,209, and export sales fell by 6.9%.
