Light truck sales fall 2.9% in April to December of 2024

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier (GVW ≤ 7.5t) trucks declined by 2.9% to 388,280 units in the first three quarters (April-December) of 2024-25, down from 400,013 units in 2023-24. Production decreased by 5.9% to 414,437 vehicles, while exports grew by 10.1% to 38,631.

The GVW ≤ 2t lightest truck segment saw domestic sales decline by 8.9% to 116,326 units in Q1-Q3 2024-25, down from 127,693 units in 2023-24. Production fell too by 13.4% (-18,000 units), while export sales fell by 27.9%.
